A jury trial date has been vacated in Henry County Common Pleas court for 61 year old Mark Snuggs of Continental, after his attorney filed a motion for competency. Snuggs is charged with 44 counts of felony offenses including rape and sexual battery. He has entered a plea of ‘not guilty by reason of insanity’. Following the motion by Snuggs attorney, the HenryCounty court ordered the Court Diagnostic and TreatmentCenter to conduct an evaluation as to whether the defendant is competent to stand trial. The jury trial was originally scheduled for June 9th; but now will be delayed until the evaluation is complete.
In other cases, Carmel Castillo of Defiance was arraigned on two felony counts of Violating a Protection Order. Castillo has a previous conviction for the same offense. He pled not guilty.
46 year old Roberto Urdiales of Holgate pled not-guilty to a charge of Possession of Cocaine.
And two subjects entered not guilty pleas to felony charges of Medicaid Fraud. Angel Concepcion of Napoleon and Virginia Flores of Holgate were both arraigned in Henry County Common Pleas Court. Flores was also charged with Falsification in Theft.
