Look for some improvements to the municipal building in LibertyCenter this summer.   Council approved a proposal from Roseman Construction at just under $28,000, to make the restroom handicapped accessible, and for some safety and security work too.  The Liberty Center Board of Public Affairs will be reviewing the proposal next.

The new water treatment plant project is expected to move forward; but there will be a price to pay for the location being a wetlands.  Mannick and Smith have been contracted to help work through that issue, at a price not to exceed $39,450.                LibertyCenter council was informed their block grant proposal to demolish two homes in the community was turned down.

Council reviewed some negative news on two financial fronts:  interest income has dropped from nearly $32,000 in 2007, to only $3,100 last year.    And state funds for community projects for LibertyCenter fell from $33,500 to $19,000 over the past four years.

And LibertyCenter council discussed a memorial plaque to honor long-time resident Louisa Strock.
