A tentative agreement has been reached in contract talks between the Napoleon school board of education, and employees of the district.  The board and Napoleon Faculty Association have come to terms on a three-year contract, pending a ratification vote of the NFA.   And a one-year salary re-opener was nailed down with OAPSE employees of Napoleon Schools.  That is also pending a vote of the union members.

The Napoleon school board reviewed progress on the construction projects during their Wednesday session; and they approved some change orders.  Crews replaced a footer tile along the south side of the high school gym, they added protective coating to the exterior of the high school building, and replaced a failing hot water heater in the high school.  Those changes added up to over $160,000; but are covered in a contingency fund.  Over $460,000 was spent in soil stabilization at the elementary site, due excessive moisture in the ground this spring.

In personnel action, the Napoleon board approved a number of teacher transfers at the middle school level.   Heather Gallagher was approved as a reading teacher at St. Augustin, replacing Tanya Bok.           Chris Wenner resigned as technology assistant; and Justin Yant was hired for that position.

And Summer Mahlman was approved as the new varsity volleyball coach at Napoleon, with Benjamin Miglin named an assistant coach.              A technology assessment fund was established for the high school, where all junior and senior students will be given a laptop computer to enhance their education.
