California man plans 24 hrs of push-ups to raise money for veterans

(KFI) - Jeff "The Machine Myers from Murrieta is not a veteran himself but he is dedicated to helping them in anyway that he can.

He explains that he has a platform from beating world records and he wanted to use it to help people. He partnered with Wounded Warrior Homes as he trains to complete 50,000 push-ups in 24 hours this August.

Wounded Warrior Homes help veterans transition back into civilian life by providing a place to live while they get back on their feet. Assistant Director, Gene Jennett, stressed the importance of helping veterans with injuries you can't necessarily see like PTSD.

Myers has already broken several push-up related world records and he plans to break another this August by doing push-ups for 24 hours straight. People can pledge money per push-up or give a lump sum donation that will go directly towards helping veterans.
