UNEMPLOYMENT IN OHIO FALLS SLIGHTLY IN DECEMBER

The unemployment rate in the Buckeye State fell in December to 4.7%, down from 4.8 in November.  Employment increased around Ohio by 2,500 last month, and the number of unemployed workers fell by 9,000 in December.   There were job gains in goods producing industries, leisure, hospitality, financial and health services.   The U.S. unemployment rate in December was 4.1%.
