CCNO BD. ACCEPTS SETTLEMENT WITH LUCAS COUNTY

A legal settlement has been announced between the Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio along with Lucas County and the City of Toledo.  Board members at CCNO accepted a settlement payment of a half-million dollars in exchange for the regional jail dropping a lawsuit against Lucas County that is in common pleas court.  The $500,000 will be placed in the regional jail’s reserve fund account.

Lucas County had pulled out of CCNO in order to build their own jail, which will be up for approval on the ballot in November.

The CCNO board also approved a stipend payment of $300 to each of the 19 corrections supervisors.              The regional jail will have to find a new food supplier, since Summit Food Service issued a 90-day notice to discontinue providing that service in a contract.

The board also went into executive session to discuss an ongoing investigation against a public employee, but no action was taken.
