The Fulton County Commissioners awarded contracts for a couple of bid projects recently. Fulton County will be paying a much higher rate for rock salt used in their winter de-icing program on roads. This year’s cost is $119.50 per ton; and was awarded to a company in Overland, Kansas. It represented the lowest bid. But that cost is over three times higher than what Fulton County paid last year for de-icing material.
Commissioners also awarded the bid for construction of a building at the Fulton County airport to house snow removal equipment. That contract goes to Anderzak Pitzen for $367,000.
