BIGGEST DRUG PROBLEMS IN THE MIDWEST, BUT NOT OHIO

It seems nearly every agency in the country is focused on response to the opioid epidemic, which is a major impact on families, law enforcement, and treatment facilities.Ground zero for this drug problem seems to be the Midwest, but while many states around Ohio are ranked in the top 10 for drug problems, the Buckeye State is not there.Michigan is ranked #2 for the worst opioid state, followed by Missouri, West Virginia and Indiana. The District of Columbia rates as having the worst problems with drugs. But Ohio is not in the top 20 of the latest drug problem states.

West Virginia has the most drug overdose deaths, Rhode Island has the highest teen usage of opioids, and Oregon leads the nation in illicit drug use among adults.
