DEFIANCE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS STILL NO ID FOR BODY FOUND IN MAUMEE RIVER

It’s been over two weeks since the Defiance County Sheriff’s office reported the discovery of a body in the Maumee River near the Cecil Road Bridge in Paulding County.The body was found to be in various stages of decomposition, and the cause of death and identity are still unknown.The coroner’s report indicates the body was a nude white male, about 5’4 in height, weighing approximately 150 pounds.The victim had a right side tattoo with the word ‘music’.Another tattoo on the right shoulder and back was written with the word ‘Gemini’.There were piercings in both ears, but the Lucas County Coroner’s office was unable to determine the hair color.DNA and toxicology tests are still ongoing to see if there is a match in the state crime system.Defiance County Sheriff Doug Engel reports there were no signs of traumatic injury to the body.But due to decomposition, its still unknown how long the victim was in the water.Anyone with information concerning this white male subject found in the Maumee River should contact the Defiance County Sheriff’s office at 419-784-1155.
