LADY JUSTICE ON TOP OF HENRY COUNTY COURTHOUSE GETS MAKEOVER THIS SATURDAY

She rose to the pinnacle of the Napoleon skyline 140 years ago; but now its time for a makeover. The Lady Justice that sits atop the historic Henry County Courthouse in Napoleon will be brought-down this Saturday by the WR Meyers Company crew, as part of renovations needed after more than a century of weathering. That battle with the elements included a tornado that struck in 1913, and ripped-off the left arm of Lady Justice. The removal process will take place this Saturday, August 22nd, beginning at 10am.As a result of the project, East Washington Street in Napoleon will be closed, due to a large crane that will be brought-in for the project. But the drive to the Henry County Bank will be open. The public is invited to view the operation from outside the cordoned-off areas around the courthouse.Updates can also be found on a link to the WR Meyers company website under lady justice restoration.
