DEFIANCE COUNCIL AND RESIDENTS HEAR UPDATE ON MARKETING OF 1918 SCHOOL

At the Tuesday session of Defiance City Council, local residents and members of the council got an update on marketing plans for the 1918 former school facility in Defiance. Jason Hammon talked about ideas that could include a website to get more visibility for the parcel; and even thoughts of a reception to invite developers to get a closer look. There have been some general inquiries into the former school property; but no concrete offers have been made at this time.

Defiance City Council also approved spending about $73,000 for a submersible pump for the Kingsbury lift station, which handles about 80% of the waste-water flow for the city.

Council also approved additional design services for improvements to the water treatment system in Defiance; along with a contract for temporary flow services in the wastewater treatment system.
