An Illinois man is being held on a cash bond of 3 million dollars following his arraignment in Henry County Common Pleas Court today (Wed.) before Judge Amy Rosebrook. 65 year old William F. Mohr of Edwardsville, Illinois is accused in the fatal fire that struck the Wellington Hotel in downtown Napoleon back in January 1992. Mohr is facing 3 counts of Aggravated Murder, and three more counts of Murder.
Henry County Prosecuting Attorney Gwen Howe Gebers asked for 1 million dollars bond for each of the victims in the fatal fire, which included 6 year old Roger Butts, 28 year old Kevin Brown, and 20 year old Richard Rhoads- all of Napoleon. The victim’s advocate in the case also spoke in court, asking the bond for William Mohr be set at a high level.
The pre-trial for the arson-murder case is set for May 18th; and the jury trial for William F. Mohr will begin June 15th in Henry County Court in Napoleon. Mohr will be represented by defense attorneys Clayton Gerbitz and David Klucas.
