"Mission Impossible - Fallout" Cruises to Top Weekend Box Office

This weekend's number one came as no surprise to anyone. The "Mission Impossible" series has put up serious numbers over the years and the sixth installment was no different. Tom Cruise comes to back to reprise his role of Ethan Hunt and people go to watch a big time action flick. This movie also has some pretty serious start power behind Cruise. (Watch the trailer, you'll see what I mean) This one is certainly peaked my interests, for some reason the trailer really stood out to me and at some point I'm sure I'll catch it. It did cruise to the top of the box office this weekend to the tune of $61.5 Million. "Mama Mia! Here We Go Again," and "The Equalizer 2" slowed down in their second weekends. The other new release "Teen Titans GO! To The Movies" didn't draw a major audience. It fell short behind the other children's movie currently out, "Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation."

Summer movie season certainly has slowed down a bit and next weekend might be the last of the major summer releases with see with "Christopher Robin."

Here's your top five from the weekend:

1. "Mission Impossible - Fallout" $61.5 Million

2. "Mama Mia! Here We Go Again"- $15 Million

3. "The Equalizer 2"- $14 Million

4. "Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation"- $12.3 Million

5. "Teen Titans GO! To The Movies"- $10.5 Million
