Yesterday was a really sad day for the music industry. We lost a true icon, the "Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin. Instead of mourning her loss, I wanted to remember her amazing career. Growing up in Michigan, one of the first artist I remember listening to was Aretha. She touched so many lives through her career, she even taught me how to spell R-E-S-P-E-C-T. She had over 44 Grammy nominations and walked away with 18 awards. She preformed at 3 different presidential inaugurations. Her legacy and what she meant to this industry will NEVER be forgotten.
This video is from the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors. Take a moment to watch it and remember the true talent Aretha Franklin was.
