Summer has wrapped up and the movie box office is beginning to show those yearly signs of slowing down. All of the big name releases have came and went. Now we begin to look to the fall and the rest of what has been extraordinary year for films. This weekend the box office basically duplicated what we saw last weekend. Jon M. Chu's "Crazy Rich Asians" win the box office in convincing fashion for it's second straight weekend. I looks like this best selling novel turned film is poised to win this coming weekend as well. That's one strong showing for the film through August in my opinion.
Here is the rest of your top 5:
1. "Crazy Rich Asians"- $25 million
2. "The Meg"- $13 Million
3. "The Happytime Murders"- $10 Million
4. "Mission: Impossible - Fallout"- $8 Million
5. "Christopher Robin"- $6.3 Million
I have to say, I'm a little surprised "The Happytime Murders," didn't score higher. I didn't think it win the weekend, but I did think it would score much higher.
