ODOT REPORTS LITTER IS A 10-MILLION DOLLAR PROBLEM IN OHIO

You would probably like to see your tax dollars at work fixing and building Ohio roadways.  But some of those tax dollars are being directed toward a roadside problem- litter.   ODOT reports they have spend 10 million dollars in litter pickup along Ohio roadways each year, collecting over 89,000 bags of other people’s trash this year already. With Earth Day approaching, clean-up of Ohio roadways can be everyone’s task. Since January, ‘Adopt a Highway’ groups have collected nearly 200 bags of trash, and other groups are getting involved.  The list includes Lion’s Clubs in Putnam County, and church groups in Fulton County.    But there’s more work to be done, and your group is invited to accept the challenge.   ODOT will proved the trash bags, safety vests and signs to put-up when you’re ready to go.  Contact them about adopting a section of Buckeye highway.
