DEFIANCE CITY SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES SPRING BREAK BASEBALL TRIP

The Defiance City School board of education is looking at whether to invest tax dollars in some security cameras for the bus fleet.These would be interior and exterior cameras to help in school safety for students.The cost is estimated between $40,000 and $80,000, depending on the equipment.No decision was made on the matter; but the superintendent is likely to make a recommendation in the months ahead.

The Defiance School Board reviewed plans to add wall coverings and painting to the historic community auditorium.Local state legislators are also seeking grant dollars through the capital budget.

A spring-break trip for the baseball team to Bradenton, Florida was approved beginning March 20th.

The school calendar for the coming school year was approved for Defiance City Schools, with opening day for students on August 24th.

And the OAPSE union of non-teaching staff for Defiance City Schools donated money to the cafeteria fund to help pay for students that cannot pay for lunches.
