Elon Musk is under fire for a recent tweet, where he declared "pronouns suck," including criticism from the mother of his child, Grimes.
On Friday (July 24), the Tesla CEO, 49, took to the social media platform to share the thought with his 37.1 million followers, a sentiment which many deemed to be transphobic. "Pronouns suck," he wrote in the two-word message. Just seven minutes later, the alt singer, 32, caught wind of the message and hit back in a since-deleted response. "I love you but please turn off ur phone or give me a dall [sic]," she wrote, adding, "I cannot support hate. Please stop this. I know this isn’t your heart."
As you know, the pair, who went public with their romance at the 2018 Met Gala, have had an eventful few months of press after welcoming their son in May 2020 with an unusual name. After much back and forth debate regarding its pronunciation, as well as California state law restrictions, Grimes revealed that she calls her son Little X as a nickname for his full name: X Æ A-Xii. Meanwhile, Musk broke down the name with The Joe Rogan Experience viewers, admitting, "It's just X, the letter x, and then the Æ is pronounced Ash." He went on to reveal that A-19 is a tribute to the Archangel 12, the "precursor to SR-71, the coolest plane ever."
