When the pandemic hit, people stuck at home sometimes passed the time with a drink.
Or two, or four.
Not only have many states deemed liquor stores “essential services” allowed to remain open, but some states now even allow alcohol take-away and delivery. But with the pandemic dragging on, it’s becoming a real problem for many drinkers.
Women in particular have been impacted, with their “heavy drinking” increasing 41 percent, vs 7 percent in men, according to a recent study.
