WILLIAMS COUNTY LANDS 200 MILLION DOLLAR INVESTMENT-SALMON FISH FARM

Northwest Ohio is known for its agriculture; but there’s a new kind of farm coming to Williams County, in a 200 million-dollar investment. Megan Hausch is executive director at Williams County Economic Development and reports AquaBounty Technologies will locate a salmon fish farm in Pioneer. The investment will include over 50 acres, and construction of a 479,000 square foot building. Their goal is to hire 112 people to run the salmon fish operation over the next five years, shipping product all over the world. Site preparation will begin this September, with a goal of beginning production in 2023.Williams County Economic Development, also known as WEDCO, will be hosting a virtual town hall meeting with more details on the project.
