The Ohio Rail Development Commission has awarded a grant of $75,000 to an ag-business headed to Defiance. Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc., also known as TKI will receive the grant funds to expand the rail infrastructure at their site on the west side of Defiance. TKI produces chemical solutions for agriculture and industrial use. They plan to invest about 40-million dollars at the new Defiance facility over the next three years. Their plan is to employ 17 people when they reach full production. The new plant is expected to open in the first quarter of 2024.
