HIGH WINDS CAUSE BUILDING COLLAPSE IN HENRY COUNTY WITH INJURIES REPORTED

Henry County Sheriff Marc Ruskey reports high winds caused a partial building collapse in Richfield Township Wednesday afternoon, that led to injuries for a male subject inside.

The Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call at about 4pm indicating the victim was trapped in the debris. Damascus Township Fire and Rescue responded to the location on the Henry-Wood County line near County Road K.

Family members were able to dig the victim out from the building before first responders arrived. The male subject was transported to an area hospital with Non-Life Threatening injuries.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office reports there were multiple utility poles and wires down in that area due to the storm. There is no report of a tornado touchdown at this time.
