Freelance work has been becoming more and more popular, and the pandemic just added to that. But when it comes to freelancing, there are actually some places that are better than others to live in.

Why? Tax rates, co-working spaces, and wifi hotspots all come into play.

ToolTester took the time to find the best U.S. cities for freelancers to live in, and here’s their top five.

1.Dallas, Texas. There are at least 50 co-working spaces that are all 0.1 miles from public transit, and they cost an average of $267 per month.

2.Jacksonville, Florida. There’s no personal income tax and 10 co-working spaces, which cost an average of $244 per month.

3.Houston, Texas. There are over 60 co-working spaces that are all 0.3 miles from public transit, and they cost an average of $254 per month.

4.Memphis, Tennessee. There’s no income tax and over 20 co-working spaces, which cost an average of $310 per month.

5.Indianapolis, Indiana. There’s over 45 coworking spaces which cost an average of $229 per month. It also only costs $29.25 to rent a meeting room for an hour.
